For anyone who's not familiar with what we're facing here: this training series is based on the curriculum of Animation Mentor. The most prestigious online animation course out there. With Hjalti, Nacho and Pablo as mentors (bonus points). For the fraction of the price. we are priviliged!
8th March 2020 - 00:41
*@Adam Yoohasz* funny you said that because I started doing this training to get ready to go through Animation Mentor.
8th July 2021 - 16:34
@Adam Yoohasz There're six "Character Animation" courses on "Animation Mentor" (https://www.animationmentor.com/animation-program/animation-basics/), each at the price of around 2500 US Dollars. I don't think that you can compare this with what you get here on "Blender Cloud" regardless of the fact that Hjalti, Nacho and Pablo are of course professionals and excellent mentors as well.

One note, could be great to add one index finger to sky, not the whole hand, just the index finger :)
8th May 2020 - 08:46
*@Juan Gea Rodriguez* One of these days I'll try to make my own! with that index finger for ya. One day LOL

Hi, can I create animation courses (whether paid or not )using those rigs without providing them to the students ?
14th November 2019 - 23:17
As written in the description:
> Free to share, spread them around!
Feel free to do whatever you want with them, and please DO share them with your students!

How do you switch to IK for the arms in the Sky Rig?
7th January 2020 - 16:16
*@steven2* Select one of the IK_hand bones, press "N" to open the item panel, at the bottom under "Properties" you should see the "IK" slider.
12th January 2020 - 06:13
*@Hjalti Hjalmarsson* Thanks very much!!
4th January 2020 - 12:08
I like these rigs a lot. How can I switch the arms to IK though? I don't see any way to do it
*@Pat* Select one of the IK_hand bones, press "N" to open the item panel, at the bottom under "Properties" you should see the "IK" slider.
13th January 2020 - 11:49
*@Hjalti Hjalmarsson* Yeah I figured it out a bit after posting it. Thanks for the awesome rig!
11th July 2020 - 23:04
Where could we see the reviews on the rigs. For a beginner like me, it's not clear how to even activate ball controllers (for example to make the ball look like a water drop). Also, it would be better if there were subtitles that show what buttons the instructors are pressing. In general, the training seems to be created for those who are familiar with the technical part of the software. That's why it's difficult to reproduce the same animation. I've watched and practiced the free tutorials in the official youtube Blender channel. But it's obviously not enough to understand how certain activities were made. If it's possible if there were a more detailed explanation of every move. I'm currently on bouncing balls level, and some things are that obvious to figure out. But I hope the more I'll learn the more I understand the process somehow.

@muhtarov_shyngys Have you watched the fundamentals series? If yes, what seems to be the Problem?
9th April 2020 - 20:45
thank you all for your creative and your time which you spent but please how can I download the files because I tried several times but not working
10th April 2020 - 12:32
*@chris austin idris* Hey Chris! There should be a big "Download" button on the page, with a thin blue outline around it. It's on the right side, just above where the comment section starts.
10th April 2020 - 14:32
*@Hjalti Hjalmarsson* I saw it but whenever I press the download button it shows zip right but this one is not showing zip
10th April 2020 - 15:00

Hello. I'm going through it from the beggining as a intermediate user (at least in animation :D) I know this is aimed for animation not rigging, for that purpose there is Humane rigging which I went through long time ago (And still relatable :) ) But one technical thing really confuses me. When comparing rigging techniqe from humane rigging with this latest ball rig. I can see that when I squash assistant and rotate Ball bone it works as it should (ball remains its stretch along the ball rotation) but didn't see any setting/constraint/driver on any bone or object, as it was proceeded in humane rigging set up. So is that okay or what am I missing in the new one rig please? :/
26th April 2021 - 20:32
Hi! i have a question. When i open the sky rig, keyframe all controllers and go to the graph editor, i see 4 channels that look like this : "pose.bones["scarf_neck"].constraints["Copy Location"].influence", and i see a few keyframes in a straight line on the editor; instead of the normal keyframed bones and the channels for those bones. what am i doing wrong?
26th April 2021 - 20:38
@Martin R Oh wait, problem solved. I was in the Drivers tab and not the Graph editor.
13th September 2021 - 01:48
I'm really struggling with the armed version of Sky. I'm trying to lock him to a chair that I can move around, but his torso mesh keeps separating from his arms, legs, and head. The rig controls follow the chair as they should, and the arms, legs, and head are following along without any problems as well. The torso mesh is just struggling tremendously. Here's a screen recorning to give you a better idea of what's happening (please excuse my 2 frames per second lol): https://streamable.com/npigqp
