A good place to start animating is with a walk. Many believe walk cycles are hard. This video makes it easy, and fun!

thank you for an interesting and usefull tutorial; however in none of the tutorials available on the cloud I've seen so far (and I've seen many), I couldn't find a one that would present not only "how to making character walking like Michael Jackson used to dance" (and there is plenty of material on the subject), but also make him ACTUALLY WALKING FORWARD (or backward). Not just moving bones, but a character as a whole.
It's like a story half told. Why? I've asked above question once already, and response was something like "sometime in the future".

@marjan.mrak: You're supposed to animate the torso bone to bring the body forward. This will vary from rig to rig, but if you use rigify, or something similar, there will be a 'torso' bone in the stomach/hips area. Moving this around will move the whole body, unless you have IK set up. This is why you set the feet to IK, as they'll stay where they're placed, no matter what you do with the torso. So yeah, animate the torso bone forward, while following the advice from the video above (there's more to it than that, but there's only so much I can get across in a piece of text 😉).

Hello, I wanted to do this tutorial but the biped rig seems to have problems, basically the Right foot IK control does not rotate and the Right foot roll does not work and the Right foot does not stay locked, I do have it set to IK maybe the switch is broken
