is there a specular tutorial fo r2.8 by any chance? I don't really recognize a lot of these nodes

*@john wolfe* Most of this setup was just a workaround to display the specular in the viewport. In 2.8 you don't have to do anything, Blender should just interpret your Cycles material in LookDev mode.
